Anything in the Event Viewer? Any IP/port conflicts to note? Are you
connecting via the IP or host name?

Is this box a PDC/BDC or stand-alone server? Could it be using excessive
cycles synchronizing domain info., backing up, etc. that's causing the
bottleneck? (Take a look at the Processor Queue Length under System in the
Performance Monitor.)

Any firewall/proxy server? (Double-check the browser to see if you are
automatically detecting settings, or running an automatic configuration
script. Also, are you bypassing the proxy server for local addresses?.)

What about your NIC setup(s)? Have you updated your drivers recently?
