Do you mean "without HTML" as in "it looked like text and I didn't see any
pictures or bold or italics or anything but text", or do you mean "without
HTML" as in "I looked at the raw source in an .mbx file and there were no
non-text MIME segments"?
Most people think that E-mail that looks like text isn't HTML. And, few
(if any) mail clients make it easy (or even possible) to tell whether the
E-mail you received is HTML. With many mail clients, it's impossible to
look at an E-mail and be sure it is plain text. So, unless you know
better, there's a very good chance that you just got a copy of the original
E-mail -- complete with "mort<!-- blah -->gage" in it.
