I still think there is a DNS issue here due to the "stack connect fail"
message. What is the IP address of the DNS server you are using right now? 2
more things I would like you to try:

1) if you are not pointing to the DNS you have set up in your TCI/IP
settings please do that

2) turn on what we call "super" debugging. Open the IMail Client from the
IMail Program group. On the first dialog just click ok. From there go to
File>Settings. On this next screen click on the system button. In the lower
right check the Verbose and Debug Messages check boxes. Click Apply then
exit. Go back into your IMail Administrator make sure debug messages are
enabled here and stop/restart the SMTP service. After doing all of this
resend the messages to the domain in question. Post the section of the log
+/- 5 min each side of the transaction. Finally reverse the steps above to
turn this off as it will make your logs huge
