I am confused even more now. At the site at http://www.dnsreport.com, I put in wwmp.net and it finds the mx records but when I put inhmm, because their aren't any MX records for mail.wwmp.net ? What were you expecting?
mail.wwmp.net it does not find the mx records.
The problem I am having is some mail users sign up for a mail list with their wwmp mail address
an example of an "wwmp mail address" ??
That sounds like they entered "craig" rather than [EMAIL PROTECTED]and they get a message "not a valid address".
You don't want people, or anything anywhere, using [EMAIL PROTECTED] All mail addresses should be @wwmp.net. Then you need MX records for wwmp.net
wwmp.net MX 10 mx1.wwmp.net.
Now, within Imail, you need to create a hostname of wwmp.net as your default hostname, and required hostname alias of mail.wwmp.net. (or is it the other way round. What fsking mess) This mail.wwmp.net has nothing to to with DNS, should never be used in mail addresses. It is an internal requirement in Imail. Don't "leak" mail.domain.com out of Imail. oops, too late....
You're already screwed up on this point since we see in your msgs that you're posting as
"Craig Skaggs" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
rather than
"Craig Skaggs" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
and we see that you don't have MX records for mail.wwmp.net:
tx1# dig mail.wwmp.net mx
; <<>> DiG 8.3 <<>> mail.wwmp.net mx
;; res options: init recurs defnam dnsrch
;; got answer:

but you are cool for wwmp.net MX :
tx1# dig wwmp.net mx

;; res options: init recurs defnam dnsrch

Ipswitch's introduction of mail.domain.com really fscks up tons of Imail admins, "people like you". Not your fault. I haven't ranted on this in while. RANT RANT RANT There, RANT quota met. NOTHING is better for it. You are the current victim of mail.domain.com. Probably this will be a toe-stubber for new Imail admins until the universe collapses into a blackhole.
