It's the other way around, if you're both (a) using IMail web services, and either (b) have an A record for example.com pointing to a server other than IMail or (c) do not have an A record for example.com at all. And there has *never* been a requirement for the word 'mail.' It can be any host name. If you are not using WM/WC, you do not need to worry about it. > This mail.wwmp.net has nothing to to with DNS, should never be used > in mail addresses. Ah! But it *does* have to do with DNS--really, it *only* has to do with DNS. The IMail web services are hard-coded to assume that the OHN will have an A record pointing to the box. I think this is completely rational, but it's not documented at all (except here, constantly), and it means that the OHN has to serve dual purposes, which is misleading. It's still not as bad as you think. Not good, for sure, and I've suggested many times that this web-specific data come from a setting other than the OHN, one more subsidiary to the mail function; in kind, the default Reply-To: domain should come from a different setting. But it's actually intuitive when you look at IMail as an integrated platform serving up web pages from a host that cannot just have an MX. > You're already screwed up on this point since we see in your msgs that > you're posting as > > "Craig Skaggs" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > rather than > > "Craig Skaggs" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> This means that Craig already has his OHN set up *correctly*, actually. What he needs to better manage, and it is annoying but part of the game for now, is the Reply-To: (MAILADDR) field for himself and his users. Most important, though: he needs to manage his open relay! -Sandy To Unsubscribe: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/mailing-lists.html List Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/imail_forum%40list.ipswitch.com/ Knowledge Base/FAQ: http://www.ipswitch.com/support/IMail/
