maybe my welcome message should say "please don't nuke me, i am a develbox"
that is just two of the ips. i have seen over 50 since the 6th. ipsec is not so sec... if you know what i mean. i started with a native 7.1 install. But now imail solves crashimail by restarting the service, not denying it the satisfaction, so as long as it is running, you go down. like those rubber clowns you punch and he pops back up, or 'weebles wobble but they don't fall down' choose your analogy based on your generation... same for smtp, but when it is set to disable in win2k svcs and turned off and deactivated in imail, you would think it should not reactivate... and when i rename the files so they can't abracadabra come back, not other system issues occur. an smtp log when there is 1 user over say 100k is excessive. that with the 2gb of log files during a week when i was in paris spells trouble, and on a day where the log is 6 megs, when i only logged in once and sent a 5k email to my girlfriend... again, trouble... just remind me if this is a dictionary attack why webmail would crash if i keep changing the port...? we are buying some firewalls and routers when we move to peer1.net for hosting, i am just juggling 2 sites at the same time, and i think having missbeverklyhills on the same box as the main client (same owner with 2 ventures) could be the internet equivilent of a kick me sign. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Rick Leske Sent: Sunday, February 16, 2003 11:20 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [IMail Forum] imail, meltdown Tim, You could add 61.30.0.0 / 255.255.0.0 and 61.64.100.0 / 255.255.255.0 into your access control list, via the smtp admin gui, and that'll keep most of your woes away till you find the cause of the ingress. ~Rick ___________________________________________________________________ Virus Scanned and Filtered by http://www.FamHost.com E-Mail System.
