No notice? The mail is refused. The connection is dropped. You know your
mail did not get there. This is better than anything you can do in Imail
since all processing in Imail is done after your server has already taken
the mail in. With AOL the mail is never accepted so the spammer thinks the
mail address is invalid if their app uses its own internal SMTP mailer, and
for legit mail the sender gets a failure from their ISP that the mail could
not be delivered.

And the 2.5% ratio was not a number I ever had anything to do with so I
won't speak to it.
