Len, that comment made no sense because all of that e-mail going to AOL is not being processed by one single server. It is being processed by multiple servers, probably in a BE/FE setup. If some one using Imail/Declude/... was handling that much traffic, they would be doing it with multiple servers and/or multiple FE like Imgate.
That's a good point. For example, one large ISP (that processes 10 million E-mails/day) is running a cluster of 27 Unix servers to handle the load. Not quite AOL-level traffic, but still very heavy traffic. They were recently considering implementing an IMail+Declude system, where the IMail+Declude servers would act as a gateway to the existing Unix servers.
IMail certainly wasn't designed to handle 10,000,000 E-mails/day, but that doesn't mean there aren't ways to do it.
