One of the ideas I have is to configure the domain to be

server.

What you're talking about is neither a store-and-forward domain, nor a local host. In fact, such a setup would be completely impossible were it not for the (possibly) lucky stroke that you're using IMail and not another MTA, because IMail has some propietary technology that may help you out.

Actually, that type of setup is exceptionally easy to do with our current mail server (NetMail from Novell). NetMail servers are configured with a domain and a list of domain users thay they host mail services for. If a server receives mail for the correct domain, but the user is not in that server's list, the server can be configured to simply forward the mail to another server (not to be confused with using an SMTP forwarder for sending outgoing mail). The last server in the line gets the responsibility for bouncing badly addressed mail.

You have to stay in shape. My grandmother, she started walking five
miles a day when she was 60. She's 97 today and we don't know
where the hell she is.
