All depends on what type of _user-readable_ message they get back. I've seen some that make no sense whatsoever. Will a sender (end user) know what "mail rejected. reason: ACL" mean? or care? Not if their mail works with most people -- they will assume the problem is at your end, not theirs. Remember, they want a solution to their problems, not to add the problem of trying to solve why they can't even email you.
