We experience similiar webmail attachment problems , and with help of the list have narrowed it down to IE6.0.2800.1106 xpsp2 - as long as a client doesnot upgrade to xpsp2, then all is fine. Once this happens, the program has problem reading the mime encoding in our webmail system..
Imail 7.07 hf3 with KWM Scott of Declude did discover that in this version of Imail there are some mysterious bits of data transmitted prior to the header information - we are planning to upgrade to 8.x very soon...
