I've been using textpad for years, just another powerful, mature programmer's editor.
but if you want to search, extract, count log events per unit time, report, do one-liners, ad hoc scripts, schedule scripts as Windows jobs, without learning a programming language, then the Unix text processing tools for Win32 are the way to go.
