I have used ultraedit since version 1 and It is the most useful program i have. it can sort a text file! oepn a log file cruise over to the middle where the email id is and chose sort on cursor position and all the transactions are now all grouped together not intermixed.
it can open huge files with no problem it has macros for thoes times when you need to do a million edits. i use it a lot when i need to change the same thing in 50 files like a website and one of the links has cahanged so i do a search and replace in files and point it at the directory and say change this to that a nd it tells me the files it does it making a backup of every changed file. it can spell check. i am a fan of this product and recommend it all the time. it can open unix files and convert from dos to unix etc.. colum editing is one of the greatest features. take it for a free test drive i bet you cant live without it once you see all the cool things it does...
