Scott, almost all server class NICs are gigabit now. If it's a 10/100/1000 then why would that be a problem? We are looking at replacing our current Intel based 10/100 NIC with a 3COM NIC. All of 3COM's server NICs are now gigabit though. Should I be concerned about this?

If you use a decent brand name (Intel, 3Com, etc.) that does not say anything about "gigabit", "1000", etc., you should be fine. The only problems I've heard of (and I've heard a lot of 'em!) are with junky cards (some junky cards work very well, but many do not) or the gigabit cards.
