I just want to learn if that Intel Nic will solve the problems.

Ips says buy a 3Com but I couldn't find any, so I can't say the model #
Also they are expensive.

If you use a decent brand name (Intel, 3Com, etc.) that does not say anything about "gigabit", "1000", etc., you should be fine.


The only problems I've heard of (and I've heard a lot of 'em!) are with junky cards (some junky cards work very well, but many do not) or the gigabit cards. All the problems seem to have roots in the cards themselves (or the drivers), not IMail.
