I used mailbomber to send to the server from my cable connection at home. Each email is individually send.
That's the problem. If you have 10,000 users, for example, the "mailbomber" will in this case create 20,000 files in the spool directory. If you use a good bulk mailer, it will send to 20 recipients at a time, reducing that to 1,000 files.
Note that 110K times a 1250 users (the minimum that you sent to) is about 130MB that needs to be uploaded. That's going to take a long time for IMail to receive and deliver.
The good news is that IMail v8 should be able to automatically handle the load by itself (previous versions would choke when the maximum delivery capacity was reached, and had a hard time dealing with the overflow, assigning 1 delivery process every 30 minutes to deal with it -- essentially working at about 5% of capacity).
