I will bet you dollars-to-donuts that you have found the problem. The link you provided was very helpful just in understanding what is going on. I am now convinced that the sender of these important emails is using Outlook and sending them in Rich Text Format. This was fine as long as my client was also using Outlook, but has soon as we switched them to Outlook Express, they could no longer read the " Content-Type: application/ms-tnef" that is associated (and understood) only by Outlook. Incredible that MS would do this, although not particularly surprising. More incredible, I suppose, that I had not noticed this before.
