Earthlink (like MANY other ISPs) is probably blocking traffic on port 25
that is not destined for one of their own SMTP servers. The ISP I contract
for does the same thing. It allows for tracking and acountability when used
along with SMTP AUTHentication.

The only way around it (if you control the remote SMTP server) is to set up
your SMTP services to use another port like 2525.
