I am on the phone with Symantec at the moment. Bu I think I am going to have to use a packet sniffer to fix this problem.
If that is really the case, you should tell at Symantec. :) There is no excuse for logs that do not include vital information (as is the case here). Perhaps they have debug logging or something similar that could be used?
Do yo think this could happen it the receiving mail server has its timeouts set too short like 10seconds
It is technically possible, but unlikely.
