OK. So the server determine ESMPT by trying the EHLO and if it fails it is not supported. I get that now. So after looking at the log files I realized the final delivery is by our Symantec gateway not the imail server. We are only having problems wiht this one server. So I guess this question just became offtopic since Imail is delivering just fine. I will wait for a response from the other end to see what their log tells. The symantec gateway has terrible log files. But it is part of our enterprise license and we have never had an issues with it before. Thanks for the responses.
