To clarify, Users from a domain that is not on your server are calling users
that are on your server?  If the complaining users are on your server then
it makes perfect sense.  The only other way is if you are copying the spool
directory from a few months ago instead of the current folder.  Of course
I'm not the most versed admin.

Are the messages being resent or are your users just getting new copies of
the email downloaded to their mail client.  If it is they are just getting
messages downloaded again I don't think you can stop this.  That happens
because mail clients like outlook or outlook express see it as a new
location and then see all of the messages as being new.  As far as the
vacation messages I am not sure
