SMTP  AUTH  is _always_ supported on IMail servers, whether or not you
have  'No  Mail  Relay'  selected and, indeed, whether or not you have
'Disable SMTP AUTH reporting' enabled.

HOWEVER, if you do have 'Disable Reporting' enabled, most clients will
_think_  that  AUTH is disabled and so will never send credentials--so
make sure that box is NOT checked.

Another  element which can give the appearance of disabled AUTH is the
use  of  a  broken firewall feature such as the Cisco PIX's SMTP fixup
feature.

Most important, check your logs.
