That's why I also suggested a virus scanner integrated with the MTA (mail server), like Declude Virus, which will prevent inbound and outbound virus spread. My suggestion is to rely on each product/feature for what they were designed to do: virus scanners to stop virus laden e-mails, and SMTP Auth and/or relay for addresses to prevent open relay spamming.
