What exactly do you think I'm trying to do here?
I always figured you're either trying to kill OpenSolaris & it's
community because your first loyalty is to Linux, or kill the
OpenSolaris community because you're Sun management.
prove me wrong Ian...
The Linux community don't want to kill OpenSolaris, because it's barely
a blip on their radar, really. Companies like RedHat or Novell would
like it to fail, and I would hate for us to make it difficult for Sun to
compete aggressively with them.
I'm fairly new to OpenSolaris and its community, so the rabid distrust
of Sun and her motives puzzles me. That Sun would want to kill the
OpenSolaris community just seems like a ridiculously paranoid fantasy.
I'm not really digging the 'innocent until proven guilty' approach
either. I don't think Ian's personal integrity is in question.
I can tell you what's *not* going to attract Linux users to the
community; trolling, petty negativity, paranoia, snitchy ad-hominem
attacks and in-fighting.
For a start.
