Ian -- All I can think of is you're referring to John here, right?

If not, please tell me how what you just said follows what
I've been saying? I fail to see it (not even close).

John said: "[W]hy not just call Solaris Express: (Community|Developer)
Edition 'OpenSolaris'?" You seemingly agreed (or, at least, that's how
I tend to interpret "good point"). Seems pretty clear to me. -ian

You're referring to a mere two words out of my 200-plus word
message! Read what I actually wrote and tell me what you
think is wrong in what I said. Following is the remaining
99% of it, none of which you took into account in your
comment above). The point of what I wrote, undeniably and
unambiguously is this:

  ----------------------------------------------------------------

What keeps happening (for a month now) is broken-record
  syndrome. It goes like this:

"The problem is, Solaris Express today isn't friendly
enough. The solution is obvious, it needs to be phased
out in favor of a more Linux friendly Solaris Express."

That quickly grows to a rally cry. Subsequently a few flesh-and-blood
Nevada engineers surface here for a moment and pose concerns mostly about
execution. Not surprisingly (considering the source of these posts) those
concerns are pretty irrefutable, and as such, go unanswered. The engineer
says to him/herself: "Hmm, ok, I guess that's that", and he/she
un-surfaces. (Which is to say, tunes out indiana-discuss so they can direct
their energies to their regular project work -- but remains on standby until
  their insights are needed again.)

  - Then, lo and behold, after a little while, the point is repeated here as
    if for the 1st time:

"The problem is, Solaris Express today isn't friendly
enough. The solution is obvious, it needs to be phased
out in favor of a more Linux friendly Solaris Express."

That quickly grows to a rally cry. Subsequently a few flesh-and-blood
Nevada engineers surface here for a moment and pose concerns mostly about
execution... [their concerns go unanswered ], etc..

  - Then, lo and behold, after a little while, the point is repeated here as
    if for the 1st time:

"The problem is, Solaris Express today isn't friendly enough, etc..."

  (repeat ad-nauseum)
