As the set of packages that are present on the live CD is a favorite

email client choice will certainly find some fodder within.

Usually it's an online poll - where anyone is welcome to submit.
Interesting to see Evolution at so low a %, though probably not
surprising given the active work occurring in Thunderbird right now. I
think the hard part is trying to figure out what consequences removing
the GUI part of Evolution would make ie. which bits rely on e-d-s and
what impact would that be to the user interface.
Evolution has several major failings in my personal opinion; among those
is a lack of what I consider "basic functionality" such as a keyboard
shortcut to navigate to the next unread message regardless of folder (a
known and documented RFE has been open for quite a while for this).
The only benefits Evolution provides that I'm aware of are:
* tight integration with GNOME (i.e. setup your calendar and you click
the date and time in the upper right even when Evolution isn't open to
see appointments, contacts via Evolution data server, etc.)
* Strong exchange/alternative mail server support
It would be great if some way could be found to address Thunderbird's
shortcomings in this area as it seems to perform better than Evolution
and having just one mail client on the Live CD would be great.
Cheers,
