Dinesh and Surajit
I also searched in the books I have even in tribal medicine books including
Assamese but did not find ramjani...!!!!

Surajit's explanation sounds closer to home truth, many Sahib "researcher"
relied on local servants for names of local vegetation.   Jones's
dictionary is often cited by Sanskrit scholars oas one such widely used
book...
