Do you use Iowa School Alerts? Free...currently no sms, though-if that's what
you are solely looking for. A few other places we notify & put it on the home
page.

We use Twitter for sending text messages to cell phones. People can
sign up for a Twitter account and then turn on the settings to send
our tweets to their cell phone. Parents don't have to ever go back to
the Twitter log-in again once they are set up if they choose not to
post.

Unfortunately, this morning when I went to post our school closing,
the Twitter website said that there were too many people tweeting and
I had to come back later. It took about 20 minutes to finally get in.
This is the first time I've come across this problem though.
