Hi; I tested a bit further and it seems some sort of BIOS and/or Hardware related strangeness is going on. Every drive i connect to that box does not work (tested 3 different DVD and 2 CD Drives) with solaris - only the original one works (CD). All drives boot, load _but_ fail at the windowing stage.
The same test with Linux (DVD install with (solaris) failed drives) just works. Seems i have to go for a network install. hb This message posted from opensolaris.org
