Hi; Thanks for that DMA Hint - i totally missed this issue, since i had no probs with this over the last few years. The workaround (dma disable from grub) got me through and the DVD installed without further problems.
PS This Trick Not did not work with all drives - i tested two - one of them failed despite the option passed to grub. hb This message posted from opensolaris.org
