Holger: For Nevada, the default is with DMA enabled. For S10 and older releases, the default is with DMA off.
For the drives that works with DMA fix, can you get the drive model information via cdrw -l ? I want to update the bugid with your DVD drive information. As for the other drive that did not work, can you also got the cdrw -l information as well and maybe a bug should be filed to track the issue. Have you check and see whether there are newer DVD firmware available and see whether this fixes the issue ?
