The contents of the ZIP file is a .rsrc file. Want to define what one does
with suhc a file? I understand that it is readable by IM and can be placed
in the custom icons file directly without further modiciation for an
additiional library of icons. The page refered to doesn't say this.
ALSO...
However according to your manual in another page, the way to edit an rsrc
file is with RESORCERER from Mathemaesthetics, Inc.
>From their web site:
Purveyors of Fine Mac OS Software and Development Tools
"Masters of Zen Editation"
"Resorcerer is the premiere general-purpose commercial resource editor for
Macintosh computers running System 8, 9, or Mac OS X. Relied upon by
thousands of Mac developers all over the world, Resorcerer features a wealth
of powerful yet easy-to-use tools for easier, faster, and safer editing of
Macintosh data files and resources."
The only meaningful reference to rsrc files is in:
http://www.intermapper.com/contrib/fastpolling.html
...not the custom icons page.
A meaningful cross platform design must remove the Mac centric elements from
the cusomization from the product.

As J. Brndle pointed out, this capability already exists. He pretty much
excerpted the entire section of the manual, but here's a link to the section
in the online manual:
http://www.intermapper.com/immanual/appxd/customicons.html
Note that this section also mentions that the items from the Custom Icon
Gathering Project, converted for cross-platform use, are now available in
.zip format.
