I don't even get FPS counts from glxgears these days. Infact, it doesn't even use GLX or acceleration or whatever: it uses software mesa. I think this started with the all-eggs-in-one-backet X brain death, i.e. moving everything under /usr/ from /usr/X11R6/, when everything else following the application directory pattern would have been the correct approach. -- Tuomo
