You can try adding the module option 'ivtv_std=3' for the ivtv module
in /etc/modprobe.conf. That forces secam.
If that doesn't work, then you have to upgrade to a newer kernel (2.6.18
or higher). I'm pretty sure VLC works with later kernels too. Any VLC
users out there who can confirm this?
