Hi,
I also have this same kind of problem and I am not able to find a solution.
The ivtv module does not start and reports a eeprom problem in dmesg.
Here is the content of dmesg :
ivtv: ==================== START INIT IVTV ====================
ivtv: version 0.8.2 (tagged release) loading
ivtv: Linux version: 2.6.18-1.2849.fc6 SMP mod_unload gcc-4.1
ivtv: In case of problems please include the debug info between
ivtv: the START INIT IVTV and END INIT IVTV lines, along with
ivtv: any module options, when mailing the ivtv-users mailinglist.
ivtv0: Autodetected Hauppauge card (cx23416 based)
ivtv0: loaded v4l-cx2341x-enc.fw firmware (262144 bytes)
tveeprom 2-0050: Huh, no eeprom present (err=-121)?
tveeprom 2-0050: Encountered bad packet header [04]. Corrupt or not a
Hauppauge eeprom.
ivtv0: Invalid EEPROM
ivtv0 warning: Encoder mailbox not found
ivtv0 warning: Decoder mailbox not found
ivtv0: Error locating firmware.
ivtv0: Error -12 on initialization
ivtv: probe of 0000:04:08.0 failed with error -12
ivtv: ==================== END INIT IVTV ====================
I'm using ivtv 0.8.2 and have tried newi2c=0 and newi2c=1 as proposed in the
forum and in the
troubleshooting guide. No solution worked.
