Video32 is the raw Video device
Video0 is the mpeg device

I see live with mplayer /dev/video32 and some parameters. I do this because
on video0 I have a delay of about 2 sec. It is fast enough for live tv etc.
, but not for my special hardware application. I'm using it for video
observation and the audio signal that comes over a direct wire is then not
in time with the video. That's the reason.

My application has two possibilities: See live, and if you are not at home
recording the video input. The capture works with cat /dev/video0 > my.mpg.

If I do the capture at first, everything is fine. But if I saw live on
video32 at first and then the capture on dev/video0 I have errors sometimes
on the recorded mpeg.file. The top 1/4 to 1/3 of the top portion of the
picture is scrambled, but the other 2/3 of the picture is correct. To change
the channel with ioctl -p... few times fixes the video0, but I'm searching
for a better way.

I hope you understand me now :-)

Sorry i confused myself. video32 is the capture device
isn't it.

Ok so what are you displaying the video to?
How can video0 be too slow? It can feed mpeg frames
out as fast as they come in?
It is fast enough for live tv and that is effectively
all you are giving it it's just comeing from the
svideo connector.
