yes , very similar. looked at a biog of Rube, they seemed to live
parallel lives -
both working in early part of 20th century,
both artists
both taking the piss out of machinery at the time. 

Must have been a cultural thang for dealing with post-industrial
revolution, maybe.

i wonder who the equivalent cartoonist is today  commenting on high
tech?

Scott Adams with Dilbert maybe?
