If you use plain BackgroundSound, PointSound and ConeSound nodes in your
application, there shouldn't be problems.
It may seem so when you use it in a simple demo. But believe me the
sound system is not working. The bugs are not minor stuff you can
ignore. You cannot even control when to enable/disable your sound,
somtimes it work sometimes not. And don't even try to minimize your app,
that will enable/disable the sounds in a random way. Go check out the
java bugparade for Java3D sound bugs, and you will not even consider
using it.
Not even is it full with bugs, but much of the API does not even do
anything. alot of methods seems to be nothing but empty brackets. And
environmental sound is simply vaporware, as you will see when they
open-source it. I hope we can toss it all away and incorporate JOAL into
Java3D instead when they open-source it.
