Why on Earth shouldn't a large investment bank be on the EC? It's much better to have some diversity rather than having purely vendor organisations. When a standards body is dominated by vendors instead of users, it tends to lose focus on what people actually USE and WANT. It wanders off into realms of vast and unnecessary complexity, because this drives up prices.
Indeed, I think there should be more "user" companies like CS and Google to balance out the vendors like IBM and Oracle. Anyway, I've heard estimates that CS employs approximately 13,000 developers. Not all Java developers of course, but they clearly have the brainpower to provide a constructive opinion about *any* JSR, and not just obviously banking related ones. However, if you still feel that they "don't belong", feel free to vote against them next time they are up for re-election in 2012. Assuming the JCP still exists by then.
