My name is Flor without an a at the end.  <gender difference, grins>.  The
statement from the training site - as you quote it - is, at least in 
general, untrue, since I (and many other JAWS users) regularly use Notepad 
with JAWS and have no problem.

I appreciate your suggestions on using Notepad with JAWS. I wasn't clear
with my question and I apologize for being vague.

Actually, the Say All command works fine. I can't read line by line, or by
character or word. No big deal! I'll just use Word for these situations and
accept Notepad's limitations with JAWS.

I realize Notepad is ancient technology, but if anyone is interested, I
found the following statement from a training site:

"Notepad for JAWS users - although you can access the Notepad, JAWS will not
read back any text entered - we suggest that you use an alternative note
taking
programme such as MS Word or MS Notepad." [end of quote]
