Hi Mario,

I believe that the correct version should be 9.0.1.4 for the 2016 version. If you had other anti virus or anti malware packages installed on your computer, Vipre would remove them during the installation of it. Some of thesse, like Malware Bytes, can be reinstalled after Vipre is installed, and they will run together without problems, but Vipre will not install itself with another security product installed on your computer, so it is advised to uninstall any of these before attempting to run the Vipre set up. In the Vipre folder in Program Files (X86), there is a Reinstallation application that can be used to do just that if something goes wrong with the software, but I have never had to make use of this because the product has always installed correctly. Were I you, I would "Check for Updates" in the old Vipre version to see if it will offer to install the new v ersion for you. If this does not happen, then I would suggest uninstalling the older version and doing a clean install of the 2016 version. If needed, I will be happy to walk through the set up with you after the software is installed. There really is not that much to it. The biggest thing is setting up the schedules that you want the software to run its scans on. Let me know what you decide to do, then we can take it from there. If you are unprotected right now, then I would enable Windows Defender to get you through until Vipre is installed properly.

didn't work Mike. I downloaded (saved) and executed
setup-vipre-internet-security-en-us.exe.
after the usual installation warning, responding to the UAC and JAWS
talking, the end result:

VIPRE Setup

What settings are applied?
the version is still 7.0.6.2.

according to a support article, it says to uninstall first, but I think
this applies to having other security products like Norton, McAfee, etc?

Mario,

You can go to the Threat Track web site and download the latest release. Just install the new version over the top of the old version and all of your settings will stay put.

when 2015 came out, it was recommended not to upgrade because of (JAWS) accessibility issues;, I had applied the reg file from Roger Cusson not to get prompted to upgrade, but since I'm convinced it's time to upgrade to 2016:

how do I upgrade my vipre internet security 2014 to 2016, do I uninstall 2014 and then install 2015, or can I go directly to 2016? if so, I will need an offline installer for 2016 and directions to make any necessary changes after installation completes, because I think the offline installers need some tweaking, such as enabling protection, etc.

btw, I have applied the reg file to get prompted again, but haven't gotten any prompt yet.
