In my experience, it seems that some Linux people give up and put
Winblows on their client machine simply BECAUSE OF the proprietary
formats used for documentation (Excel, Word, et. al.). I have both
VMWare and Win4Lin for this purpose, but other people I've known who use
Linux just "give up" and "give in" on the client just so that they can
interact with the rest of the client world who pass around Word
attachments in email, with the lack of a viable web browser being the
second-most-often heard reason.
I hardly think that "well duh!" is appropriate. It *IS* a troll. I,
for one, would sooner move into the rainforest and stop using computers
all together than run Winblows. :-)
