If your errors are with RMIC, we have set up .xml ant scripts to do RMIC and invoke 
ant.  Not sure about Generate / Deploy though, again ant could do the packaging.  Your 
point is correct -- trying to stretch a version of software tightly integrated with 
1.3 based tools takes extra work.  Good Luck, Nat

I guess WSAD 5.0 compiles well in jdk1.4 only if you used it in 
non-J2EE projects. It still uses 
jdk1.3.1 at it's server end. It does compile 
with jdk1.4 but when you try to 'Generate->Deploy and RMIC code'
it gives you some major-minor error. (I think this is a version 
incompatibility)Can anybody enlighten on this issue ?
Any workarounds gentlemen ?
