Sorry Joseph and don't get me started on one of my anti-.NET rants. We use
C# and VB.NET. Its not portable but we are only targeting Windows desktops.
.NET's framework is much easier than Swing for getting together quick and
dirty Windows specific GUIs but then again its not trying to be platform
independent (regardless of M$'s claims) and doesn't use MVC, where you get
the pay back in the long term. On the project until the end of March and
then its back to Java :)

Okay, now that I decided to get into this conversation in the first place,
apparently I'm getting INTO the conversation. You people need to stop
this. :)

What language are you using for .NET? What's the system impact of the
generated code? A lot of Swing issues are caused by overuse of created
objects, and poor use of the objects created. I'd be interested in knowing
how .NET handles this stuff, and if it's, like, portable.

Thinlets!

... and Eclipse doesn't have a Swing throw-together tool yet anyway, does
it? (I haven't seen it, but I don't use Eclipse very often so it's quite
possible I've completely missed it.)
