SVN items with ":" in path/file names cannot check-out to Windows

SVN Check-Out and Update fails when there are ":" characters in SVN names.
For example,
Import\Jena-SVN\Scratch\CJD\Jena2OWLRL\scratch\TestCase:WebOnt-AnnotationProperty-001
fails with error message "The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax
is incorrect."
I don't know if there are others. This one blocks further check-out, update
operations.
