Dear Friend,

We should always be quick to impart the wisdom that we've received into
the lives of those around us. The Lord who has blessed us with wisdom and
understanding calls us to be a shining beacon of light making others better
because of what we know is true. The Bible declares in Proverbs 4:5-7 "Get
wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of
my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she
shall keep thee. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and
with all thy getting get understanding." Be encouraged to impart the
wisdom that you've received throughout your life into the lives of those
whom you love to make them better. (Romans 1:11) (Matthew 5:13-16)

I hope this message encourages your heart to spend time with your loved
ones sharing with them what you have learned in your life and found to be true.

THE ROBIN'S RAIN SONG

"That robin's song means rain," I remarked.
My family looked at me and wondered about Mom communicating with the birds.
"Yes," I said. "When the robins sang like that, Grandma always told us it
meant rain was coming."

They then wondered about my mother and me. "And she was usually right," I
insisted.
Later in the day it rained! A gentle spring storm outside my kitchen door.

It's amazes me how memories from childhood pop, unannounced, into our
minds, triggered by a word, a sound, a song, a picture. I hadn't thought
about the robin's rain song for awhile. However, as I sat at my computer
and heard the robins singing, Mother's words came to mind.

I also realize how much we absorb in childhood that later influences our
lives. My memories, I've discovered, continue to play a role in my thoughts
and writing. Mother, even though she's gone, leaves a legacy in memory that
I share with my daughter and grandchildren.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:
Ephesians 4:29-32 "Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth,
but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace
unto the hearers. And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are
sealed unto the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, and wrath, and
anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all
malice: And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one
another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."

1 Thessalonians 5:14-15 "Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are
unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all
men. See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that
which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men."

Romans 15:1-4 "We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the
weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour
for his good to edification. For even Christ pleased not Himself; but, as
it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on Me. For
whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning,
that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope."

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.

Dear Friend,

It is important that we invest the short time that we have on the earth
doing things that are productive and bring meaning to our life. No matter
how long we may think life will last, it will all pass too quickly and will
either leave us feeling fulfilled and content or regretful and wish our
life could have been different. The good news is if we are feeling the
latter today, we have a chance to make it better and reach for those goals
that were once more evident in our minds and hearts. Never think about
giving up on life because it is never too late to start again and reach
for your hearts desires. Believe in yourself as God believes in you and
realize that you are on the earth for a purpose that is meant to accomplish
your God given dreams. (James 4:13-15) (Jeremiah 29:11-14) (Psalm 121:1-8)

I hope today's message ministers to your heart to see that life is short and
should be used to accomplish every goal and desire that God has placed in our
hearts.

LIFE IS A DASH

My dear friend, Glenn, is an emergency room physician and medical director.
In the 30 years he's been practicing medicine, he has seen many near-death
situations and many people die. It has given him an interesting perspective
on our culture's attitude toward life and death.

He says that we put the dates of a person's birth and death on a gravestone
with only a dash in between to denote their life and contribution. For
example, all we know from a gravestone inscribed with the words, Abraham
Lincoln (1809-1865), is that Abraham Lincoln was 56 years old when he
died. We do not know that he literally held the United States of America
together when it might have split apart, that he freed the slaves, and
that he was a powerful orator whose vision and speeches moved a nation.

The dash symbolizes our entire lives---the time we have to create meaning
for our families, our communities, our countries, the world, and ourselves.
We are the ones responsible for what we do with our lives. We are the ones
who will one day look back and determine whether the life we lived was
happy and if it was one we were proud to have lived. Like Abraham Lincoln,
we do not know when our lives may end, so we need to ask the question
now: "What is the purpose of our lives?" For an individual or a company,
the answer to that question determines the mission.

When you think about that dash---the length of your life between your
birth and death--what do you want it to say about you? Ask yourself what
is most important instead of what is most urgent. What gives you joy and a
sense of satisfaction?

These are the big questions that you need to answer in order to proceed in
life. Some people find it by taking time to meditate and reflect. Other
people find it after encountering some life-threatening incident. And
others find it after being hit by some emotional or financial disaster.
The key to finding it is to ask yourself honestly and fearlessly: What
really makes you happy? What gives you inner peace?

Ultimately it is the relationships that you make with yourself and with
your family and friends you value that is important. Make a commitment to
yourself and to your loved ones that you are going to devote your time to
what is going to make you happy and proud of your "Dash."

By Marilyn Tam

I pray that this message has struck a chord in your heart to be more
sensitive concerning your dash (-) and how it will represent the life that
you lived on this earth. I encourage you to seek the Lord in prayer and
let Him be your guide from this time forth to lead each and every one of
your days that they may be filled pursuing God's purpose and fulfilling
every area that God has planned for you. (Jeremiah 29:11-13) (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

James 4:13-15 "Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into
such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain:
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It
is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth
away. For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this,
or that."

2 Corinthians 4:17-18 "For our light affliction, which is but for a moment,
worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we
look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen:
for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen
are eternal."

Jeremiah 33:2-3 "Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that
formed it, to establish it; the LORD is His name; Call unto Me, and I will
answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not."

2 Timothy 4:7-8 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I
have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of
righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that
day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing."

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.
