Dear Friend,

We should never play games with our eternal soul by postponing or ignoring
the invitation to salvation that Jesus Christ offers to mankind. The Lord
in His infinite love and mercy wishes for none to perish but for all to
come to repentance and accept Him as their personal Savior. The Lord Jesus
will never force Himself upon anyone because He has given us all free will
to either accept Him or reject Him. (2 Peter 3:9) (Revelation 3:20)

The consequences that follow our acceptance or rejection of the Lord rest
solely upon ourselves and can never be blamed upon someone else because
each of us will stand before God and give an account of what we did while
we were on the earth. If you have never done so before, please make the
wise decision to repent of your sins and accept the Lord Jesus Christ as
your Lord and personal Savior. He loves you and died on the cross so that
you may live Eternally with Him. (Matthew 10:32-33) (Romans 10:8-13)

I hope this message encourages your heart to think of your salvation and if
you have never made the decision to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and
savior, that you would do it this day.

IT MUST BE SETTLED TONIGHT

The burly miner blinked as he left the dark interior of the coal mine.
Stopping at a faucet near the mine entrance, he washed the worst of the
grime from his face and hands, then headed towards his home on the
outskirts of the village. As he trudged along the dusty lane, he passed the
open door of a little church. Inside, a small crowd listened intently as an
energetic man gesticulated from the pulpit. Interested, the miner stepped to
the door.

"Absolute surrender is what we must have," the minister was saying. "Are
you willing to surrender yourself absolutely into His hand? If not, you
are not ready to meet your God." The minister paced back and forth on the
platform. "We do not know how much longer our earthly probation will last.
Tonight you are living; tomorrow may be too late. Ask yourself, I beg of
you, 'Am I ready to meet the Lord?'"

The miner, touched to the quick, slipped into the back pew. I am not ready
to meet God, he thought. I have lived a careless, godless life. How can I
make peace with Him? The meeting ended, and the people filed out. Still
the miner remained in the pew, his head in his hands.

Finally, the minister touched him on the shoulder. "Brother, are you ready
to meet the Lord?"

Blindly, the miner shook his head. "I know I am not. Oh, help me find peace!"

An hour passed as the minister shared the plan of salvation; yet something
held the miner back from full surrender.

"It's getting late," the minister finally said. "Go home, and continue to seek
the Lord."

The miner shook his head. "Stay with me a little longer; it must be settled
tonight."

Once again the minister explained the way of salvation and prayed, but in
vain. Another hour passed.

"You must go home," the minister told him. "It's late, and I cannot make it any
clearer."

"It must be settled tonight," the miner repeated, his eyes burning with
earnestness.

"Then we shall stay here together," the minister agreed. Once more he spoke
of Jesus, and shared promise after promise. Once more he prayed, but in
vain. "I must go," the minister finally said. "It will soon be morning. Go
home, and return tomorrow night. Maybe then you will find peace."

"Sir, I cannot leave this place until I find peace."

The poor man's voice trembled. "Tomorrow may be too late. It must be settled
tonight."

The minister could not resist his appeal. "By the help of God." he said,
"it shall be settled tonight."

Again he explained the steps of conversion; again he prayed. As he spoke,
the miner broke into sobs and tears, and at last the light pierced his darkness.

"I see it!" he cried. "I give myself absolutely to God, to His will, to do
only what He wants. It is settled. Praise His name, it is settled!"

The two men knelt again, but this time to thank God for bringing light to
a sinner's soul.

The next morning the miner went to work as usual. During the day he was
sent to a distant part of the mine to fetch some tools. When he did not
return, his fellow workers went to look for him.

They found that the mine walls had caved in on him, and he was buried in
the debris. Working with pick and shovel, they began to dig. Finally, from
the fragments of rock and rubbish and stone which hid him from sight came
a faint sound: "Tonight ---- would have been ---- too late. Thank God ----
it was settled ---- last night!"

I am ready to meet the Lord!

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

1 John 1:9-10 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive
us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we
have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us."

Isaiah 55:6-7 "Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon Him
while He is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man
his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and He will have mercy upon
him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon."

Romans 10:9-10 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

1 John 5:11-13 "And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal
life, and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he
that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written
unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that
ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God."

All of these scriptures can be found in the King James Version Bible.

Dear Friend,

We should never underestimate the work that we do in the name of the Lord.
God is able to be bring extraordinary results from the most ordinary of
people. The Lord doesn't look for ability or talent when seeking servants,
but He does seek for a surrendered heart ready to follow where God leads.
When we take the limits off of God and allow Him to work through us, we
will see amazing results in our life and in the lives of those around us.
Be encouraged to surrender your will to the Lord and allow His will to
take root in your heart where your life will be used to minister God's
grace to a hurting and dying world. (1 Samuel 16:7) (1 Corinthians 1:25-29)

I hope today's message encourages your heart to be a surrendered vessel in
which God can work through to touch others all around the world and make them
better.

THE CHURCH THE BIBLE BUILT

Many years ago the Rev. Robert Burris, now 92 years of age, worked for four
and one-half years as a missionary in South China. As part of his ministry,
he journeyed into the mountains carrying copies of the Scriptures in
Chinese for distribution. In this way, although he could not speak fluent
Chinese, the people were given God's word.

Toward the end of his term Mr. Burris and three companions began a 180-mile
journey with 4,000 copies of the Chinese New Testament. In the first ten
days about half of these New Testaments had been distributed. Then, in the
remote countryside, they were stopped by five armed bandits who took
everything--money, clothing, shoes--and the remaining 2,000 copies of the
New Testament. Mr. Burris and friends limped home barefooted in their
shirts and trousers, glad to be alive.

Approximately 25 years later when Mr. Burris was the pastor of a church in
Ohio, he and his wife attended a lecture with slides presented by a missionary
to South China. Among the slides shown was a picture of the very place in which
he had been robbed by the bandits. "Now," the missionary said, "we come to the
most important slide in my collection. I call it The Miracle Church."

The picture on the screen showed a large rough empty building. "This is The
Miracle Church," the missionary continued, "Because no one knows who started
it, or how, every Sunday, 400 people attend, each with a copy of The New
Testament in Chinese.

No one knows where they got these New Testaments. So far as is known, no
missionary or distributor ever went into these mountains which are infested
with bandits and robbers. Yet today, the church is there and the people have
God's Word."

Mr. Burris smiled in gratitude. God's Word, taken from him that day by
bandits had been building it's own church in China for 25 years.

Read and meditate on these scriptures:

1 Corinthians 1:26-29 "For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many
wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But
God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and
God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which
are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised,
hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things
that are: That no flesh should glory in His presence."

Isaiah 55:8-9 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways
my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so
are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

1 Samuel 16:7 "But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not look at his appearance
or at the height of his stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord
does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the
Lord looks at the heart.'"

Colossians 3:23-25 "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord,
and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of
the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong
shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of
persons."
