I don't know if the internet checking will hurt JFW, but I do know that if Virushield 
finds a virus while running in the 
background it will lock your speech and you won't know what is happening if you can't 
see the screen.  Couple this fact 
with Mcafee's substandard virus-detection rates and I would not recommend using it.
