As it has been mentioned on here before, this problem can be corrected with the
latest drivers for the dectalk. One also has to update the firm ware, once you
do this the problem should disappear!

Hi, it's a dectalk bug. Accented letters turn of the synthesizer. We have
been complaining about it here for a while.No fix at present.
