Hi, Teresa. I've had this problem with not only the alt key, but also with
the control key and both Windows keys. I used to unload JAWS as you're
doing until I found a different way to resolve it. If the alt key is
causing the problem, I find that whacking that key four or five times
usually solves it. The same things helps with the control key or either of
the Windows keys. The last time I brought this up, Joe Dunn and some others
here told me it was perhaps a jaws keyboard device driver problem, but after
updating the suggested driver, this still happens. So, all I can say is
you're not losing your mind, it's happening with me also.
